Experimenting with video making

This video we filmed different clips associtating with the letters in the audio and having those clips going in time with it. This shall be relevant to my music video because it has shown me how to  get clips to the beat of the audio and not having it in a random place were it isn'y relevant to it.

This is another experiment but by using images and brushed to make the animation. I though this was quite an interesting way in making a video and had fun making it. Although making objects move about was rather time consuming especially with repeated images like the rain.

Favourite Music Videos

This is Florence and the Machine - Rabbit Heart(Raise it Up)

These are a few screen shots of what I like about the video. The style that Florence and the Machine have is pretty flamboyant and love the way that this video shows this off really well. The colour of the video throughout has a very vintage like tones to it. Also the setting of the forest I really think is effective to go with this flamboyant style. The transitions are basic with just a fading effect in and out though these are over layers for a couple of seconds which I think are really effective.

This is the video for the Harrisons - Monday's Arms

I like this music video as it has an effective storyline behind it but also includes some lip syncing not by the actual band. There is no fancy slide transitions and is not very much highly edited. I like the credits at the start making it like a mini film. I like the camera angles and motions used in this particularly when it is using tracks to follow the actors walking in front of the camera.

This is the music video for Those Dancing Days - Run Run

This video really goes well with the beats, whether it be the transitions between different clips or actual movements done. Also again I like the styling of the video.

Transition Week Music Video Project

This was the first time I have had a go at actually making a propper video of such thing and using a video editing software whichI used Sony Vegas.
The idea of the video is Teen Spirit and have fun and messing around, though we did run out of ideas. I enjoyed filming, especially movment of actions were could zoom in and out. In my A2 I will need to make sure that I have some solid ideas to what I want in my video, and have more of story by following lyrics.

For editing I used Sony Vegas as we shot in HD and was easier to use than Adobe Premier. I found this east to use once knew were short cut keys were. I learnt how to cut clips, slow/fast clips up whitch i found effective with certain clips we had. Also learnt how to make a screen shot and put it in and use of flash with it to make look like taken a picture which worked well. The way that the clips transition in smoothly aswell. Also reversing clips i though was a good effect which exagerates movements.

I like how the video goes with the music at the right beats and i like the way we have used different effects to exagerate certain clips. If was going to do this again though i would want it to have more of a story behind it so that it would have more of contrast between video and music.

We also tried some stop motion, which i really enjoyed playing with. I may want to include this into my A2 production as think it could be effective. I like experimenting with this because you can really play about with it and looks good if you get it right.
